Greetings job searchers. We are a small coffee shop located right above Perth Train Station. You've probably walked past us at one point or another - if you're trying to get to the State Library you'll have to walk across a bridge, and before you walk across the bridge there's the walkway with yknow Boost Juice and the news agency and the dental clinic and stuff like that. There's also a place that sells coffee and ice cream and has a little ice cream statue, which is us.
It would be nice if you know how to make coffees, and have several years' experience working at a coffee shop. But if not, all we really ask is that you have a reasonable work ethic and a good sense of humor.
Despite what you may rightly perceive as the relative strangeness of this job advertisement, I do promise you that this is a job worth applying for. I have worked here for 3 years and though one customer has even tried to sue me, I would still say this is the best job I have ever had. Part of the reason why is because the boss is such an unorthodoxly humorous man - I mean what other boss would tell you to hire a replacement before you are able to quit?
I mean imagine that - after 3 years of working here, imagine that before you are able to quit and pursue a dream of travelling to France on a working holiday visa, your boss asks you to hire someone before you go. What boss asks an employee to hire a replacement employee? What other boss would tell ya you gotta bloody make up the ad yourself on Indeed? Conduct interviews and hold trial shifts yourself? There are two possible explanations for this sort of behavior. One is that the boss is a cruel and lazy person. The other is that the boss is a unique and funny person, your friend who trusts you, and in this example, it is the latter
