Mechanical Fitter/Mechanical Coordinator

We're hiring a Mechanical Fitter / Coordinator to join our dynamic Sydney-based team In this role, you'll support the delivery of Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) projects by installing, maintaining, and coordinating projects. You'll work closely with engineers, project teams, and clients to ensure all mechanical and ITS solutions are implemented safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
We are looking for someone with passion and drive who will be responsible for:
1. Assembling and installing ITS traffic systems, including assembly of bearings, gearboxes, electric motors, drives etc.
2. Coordinating field teams and sub contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope.
3. Conducting inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting ITS equipment.
4. Supporting documentation, QA/QC procedures, and project records to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
5. Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery.
6. Participating in audits, quality reviews, and meetings, with flexibility to take on ad-hoc duties as required.
The successful applicant will have:
1. A trade certificate in a mechanical field such as fitter/machinist, HD fitter etc
2. Demonstrable experience working with an OEM
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and ITS specifications
4. Demonstratable experience in safety, quality, and delivery of Mechanical Assembly and installs.
5. Demonstratable experience in producing Work Breakdown Structures, Work Packs, Monitoring and Reporting Schedules
6. Strong time management and documentation skills
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
8. Ability to travel regularly to field sites nationally and international
9. Initiative & a positive attitude towards continuous improvement & self-development
