Resolve Recruit is seeking an experienced Senior Windows Desktop Engineer to join a Commonwealth Government agency dedicated to building a productive, resilient and sustainable economy enriched by science and technology.
In this role, you'll work within the Infrastructure Services team to deliver both BAU support and high-impact ICT projects. You'll be responsible for designing, maintaining and optimising end-user technologies – including Standard Operating Environments (SOEs), enterprise messaging and collaboration tools, and secure remote access solutions – while ensuring performance, security and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, maintain and provide Level 3 support for:
Standard Operating Environment (SOE), including desktop productivity software and device configurations (desktop and iOS mobile).
Enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms.
Enterprise remote access solutions (virtual desktop and VPN).
* Package and deploy applications.
* Manage automated patching processes.
* Provide expert technical advice and represent the section in ICT governance and management forums.
* Resolve complex technical issues escalated from Service Desk and Level 2 teams.
* Collaborate with infrastructure, security and application teams to ensure seamless integration and policy enforcement.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation,SOPs and knowledge base articles.
* Contribute to project planning and delivery for upgrades, migrations and new services.
* Monitor system performance and implement proactive improvements.
* Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
Key Experience and Skills:
* Strong expertise in Windows 11, Microsoft Intune and Group Policy (including Advanced Group Policy Management).
* Proficiency with MECM (SCCM) and Intune for SOE creation/maintenance, application packaging and patching.
* Experience with Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (M365 Pro Plus), including servicing, update channels and licensing.
* Skills in Mobile Device Management (MDM) / Mobile Application Management (MAM) through Intune.
* Advanced PowerShell scripting for automation and enterprise management.
* Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, communication and mentoring skills.
