Superintendent Shift Operations
NRG Gladstone Operating Services Pty Ltd (NRGGOS), a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Energy Inc., operates and maintains the 6‐unit, 665MW Gladstone Power Station, Queensland's largest single power station. NRGGOS operates the station in a safe, reliable, responsible and sustainable manner, achieved through the skills, knowledge, experience, innovation and drive of our people.
NRG is currently seeking to appoint a permanent, full‐time Superintendent Shift Operations to join the Production Department. This position works on a five‐panel, 12‐hour shift roster.
Responsibilities
* Ensure workgroup compliance with management systems, corporate, statutory, safety and legislative requirements, policies and procedures, with significant emphasis on safety.
* Ensure safe and effective operation of the boiler, turbine, generation and auxiliary plant.
* Ensure the plant operates to meet the requirements of the governing agreements.
* Lead, manage, coach and mentor work group team members.
* Provide leadership for continuous improvement in systems and practices for performance monitoring, work management and provision of safe plant access.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have Advanced Boiler and Steam Turbine Operators High‐Risk Work Licenses partnered with a trade and/or tertiary qualification in a technical or business discipline. Previous leadership experience and well‐developed problem‐solving skills are highly regarded.
