School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences / UQ Audiology Clinic Part-time (60% FTE), continuing position Base salary will range from $100,554 - $109,496 (full-time equivalent) 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 7) About This Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Audiologist to join our world-leading School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences as a Clinical Educator in our Audiology Clinic on a permanent basis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the professional education of postgraduate audiology students through the supervision of students in clinical and preclinical settings with a focus on the delivery of clinical care in adult rehabilitation. This position is primarily based at our St Lucia campus, with one day a week at a primary school within the Greater Brisbane region. Some work may also be required at other UQ locations including Toowong as needed. Please note, this position is 0.6 FTE/3 days per week with the days of work determined by the academic timetable and may vary per semester. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Using recent professional practice with advanced knowledge, provide guidance, implement and monitor operational and clinical procedures related to audiology services. Facilitate and supervise individual and groups of students performing profession specific or interprofessional clinical practice in diverse environments (university-based clinic or external site e.g. school, hospital, community centre, industry). Develop and implement appropriate student education processes and models of clinical supervision to support students’ learning as applicable for their existing knowledge and skills. Guide, develop and deliver evidence informed therapy for patients and clients in conjunction with students and clinical staff. Clinical areas may include but are not limited to adult diagnostics and rehabilitation, paediatric diagnostics, tele audiology and school screenings. Monitor, evaluate and report on students’ development of clinical skills and knowledge, utilising profession specific tools and criteria. Perform a range of administrative functions in the Clinics including liaising with university based clinical education liaison managers and/or course coordinators regarding curriculum development, student placements and assessments. Foster the School’s relationship with industry, government departments, professional bodies and the wider community. About You Qualifications and training equivalent to a graduate-entry degree in Audiology with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Demonstrated recency of practice with advanced knowledge and ability to deliver evidence based clinical practice in the area of adult diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology in a broad range of clinical environments. Demonstrated abilities as an effective educator and communicator in the area of audiology clinical education such as student supervision, educational evaluation and assessment marking. Ability to develop and implement innovative methods of instruction to enhance clinical skills and knowledge development. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and to represent and promote audiology at an interprofessional, university and wider community level, including industry, government, and professional bodies. Ability to work effectively with technology systems and master software applications. Ability to adapt, work effectively and collaboratively to achieve shared goals in evolving environments. Ability to prioritise tasks, multi-task and manage time effectively. Experience in telerehabilitation and remote hearing aid programming would be advantageous. The successful candidate will also be required to complete mandatory immunisations, maintain full membership with Audiology Australia and Certified Practising Audiologist status, be eligible for a Medicare Provider Number and possess a Blue Card and Driver’s Licence.
