Our programs cater for the needs and interests of senior secondary school students in Years 9 to 12, young adults, third age learners, and adults with a disability in supported employment, training and lifestyle activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional to join a growing not-for-profit organisation, offering a unique opportunity to work on a broad range of financial and accounting matters across our national operations.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Senior Accountant - Financial Analyst to design, implement, and lead our data analysis program, including the tools, workflows, and regular schedule of data collection, analysis, and reporting. You will be based on site at either our Cairns, Brisbane, Devonport or Adelaide office.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, implement, and lead a data analysis program, including tools, workflows, and a regular analysis and reporting schedule.
* Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, reporting, and insights to support decision-making across our national operations.
* Prepare, analyse, and monitor budgets and forecasts across multiple programs and sites, including variance analysis and clear commentary.
* Partner with operational leaders, program managers, and non-finance stakeholders to support financial planning, cost control, and informed decision-making.
* Analyse revenue streams including government funding, grants, program income, and other sources, ensuring alignment with funding agreements and organisational objectives.
* Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support business cases, program expansion, and strategic initiatives.
* Support month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.
* Assist with compliance and reporting requirements relevant to education and not-for-profit organisations.
* Contribute to audit processes and respond to internal and external reporting requests as required.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency and data quality.

Skills and Experience:

* A minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting, including in a financial analyst role, is essential.
* Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent essential.
* Member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and/ or CPA Australia (desirable).
* Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* High-level organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal.

For this position with our company, applicants must be willing and able to provide annually:

* National Police Check issued in the 3 months prior to offer and renewed annually.
* Working with Children Check for relevant state(s)

Remuneration:

* Level 11 (Indie Education Enterprise Agreement $131,925 per annum, plus superannuation.
