About the role
We're looking for a detail-oriented professional to support Defence estate projects through accurate data processing and documentation. This role focuses on interpreting spatial data, managing asset information, and preparing technical documentation rather than traditional cost planning or surveying tasks.
You'll work closely with Defence project managers and contractors to ensure asset data is correctly processed, labelled, and integrated into project systems. Proficiency in CAD and handling asset data is essential.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
9. Data Processing & Asset Management: Interpret and process Defence asset data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
10. Spatial Data Integration: Work with spatial analytics outputs to label and organise asset information for Defence projects.
11. Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain asset data (GDLs) and other project documentation.
12. CAD Support: Use CAD tools to update and manage drawings in line with Defence standards.
13. Collaboration: Liaise with project managers, contractors, and Defence representatives to clarify data requirements and resolve discrepancies.
14. Quality Assurance: Ensure all processed data and documentation meet Defence compliance and governance standards.
15. Risk and Value Management: Identify cost risks and opportunities, contributing to value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
16. Qualifications or experience in CAD drafting, spatial data management, or technical documentation (construction or engineering background is helpful but not essential).
17. Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical data.
18. Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
19. Comfortable working with large datasets and structured documentation.
20. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
21. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
22. Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police check.
