Train Maintenance and Refurbishment Specialist
Join a dynamic team of skilled professionals working in one of Australia's most iconic rail environments. As a Train Maintenance and Refurbishment Specialist, you will be trained across a wide range of carriage maintenance tasks, focusing on both interior and exterior components.
* Inspect, repair, and install carriage interior components such as furniture, wall coverings, flooring, windows, doors, cabinets, bunk beds, and upholstery
* Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards, troubleshoot and repair tasks, and support fault reporting processes
* Service hinges, locks, and other internal fittings to maintain carriage serviceability standards
* Maintenance of carriage bodies, including side service flaps, and access hatches
* Assist in sealing and weatherproofing carriage exterior
* Support continuous improvement projects to enhance guest comfort and operational efficiency
* Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and effectively
* Maintain tools and equipment according to 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
* Ensure adequate stock for all car builder-related spares is available for quick replacement during breakdowns
* Follow safety, environmental, and rail compliance protocols at all times
