Due to ongoing and future growth, we're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team in Dandenong South.
Reporting to a highly experienced and supportive Financial Controller, you'll work closely with a small, collaborative team of three who genuinely support one another. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain exposure across the full finance and accounting function, with the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution every day.
This is an onsite position offering 30–38 hours per week across 4–5 days, providing some flexibility while maintaining strong team connection.

What you'll be doing:
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, and inventory reporting.
* Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate reconciliations for banking, inter-company transactions, and balance sheet accounts.
* Assist in monitoring, analysing, and forecasting cash flow to support business decision-making.
* Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget, working closely with senior management to provide insights and analysis.
* Support job costing analysis and reporting, contributing to improved financial visibility and decision-making.
* Oversee month-end payroll requirements, including superannuation and payroll tax, and assist with payroll processing as needed.
* Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
* Provide support in managing the company's foreign exchange exposure.
* Supervise and coordinate the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Train, mentor, and support the Accounts Officer and other team members as required.
What you bring:
* Professional accounting qualification with sound commercial experience. CA or CPA would be highly regarded.
* A positive, proactive and collaborative approach, supported by outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent relationship building skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with people at all levels.
* Proficiency in using ERP whole of business platforms.
* Experience with foreign currency exchange and hedge contracts.
* Commercial awareness and an understanding of managing business model sustainability.
* Familiarity with International and US GAAP would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment would be highly desirable, but is not essential.
