We're currently on the lookout for a Sample Stand Operator/ Grain Handler to join our team at the Ballarat Packing site.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be at the heart of our operations, helping us deliver for clients and growers. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your day-to-day will include:
- Running our weighbridge smoothly and safely — following the rules and getting the details right
- Managing grain load bookings and working directly with our clients and growers (you’ll be the friendly first point of contact)
- Creating tickets, invoices, and monthly statements
- Keeping our purchase and sales contract data up to date
- Working with truck drivers and handling their queries like a pro
- Maintain plant cleanliness
- Operating plant intake and out turn systems
- Assisting with site bunker and silo hygiene compliance
- Manage and maintain site records (grain hygiene, OH&S;)
- Equipment and site maintenance
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who’s organised, great with people, and not afraid to get stuck in. You’ll ideally have:
- Some hands-on experience with grain sampling and related tech
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Confidence using MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Minimum of two years' experience working with grain
- Ability to work in team environment
Ideally if you have the following and/or experience
- Previous grain industry experience
- Confined space entry
- Authorised officer accreditation
- Non-slewing mobile crane ticket
- Forklift licence
- Working at heights
- Bulk storage experience such as tarping and bunker work
