Insight Lighting is one of Australia’s leading suppliers of creative lighting solutions to architects, designers, engineers & wholesalers. We are currently a lighting estimator to be part of our projects team. We are looking for a team player who has experience in lighting projects.
As a Lighting Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for lighting projects based on client specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings. You’ll work closely with sales, design, and project management teams to ensure proposals are both technically sound and financially viable.
Key Responsibilities
Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to determine lighting requirements.
Perform take-offs and calculate quantities of materials and labor
Source and evaluate supplier quotes for fixtures and components
Prepare detailed and itemized cost estimates for lighting packages
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and sales staff to develop optimal solutions
Assist in the preparation and submission of bid proposals
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lighting products, technologies, and industry pricing
Support value engineering efforts and recommend cost-saving alternatives
The perfect candidate will have;
Proven experience as an estimator, preferably in the lighting or electrical industry
Robust knowledge of lighting systems, components, and industry standards
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Outstanding communication, customer service and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines and stay focused under pressure
Positive attitude and work really well in a team
Excellent skills using MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
