Speech Pathologist Position

We are seeking a Speech Pathologist to join our team in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity for an early career clinician with some post-graduate experience to further develop their skills in an acute hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Speech Pathology Australia. They should possess demonstrated postgraduate, core competency skills in managing patients with dysphagia and communication disorders.

* Key Responsibilities:
o Rotate through a range of acute, sub-acute and rehabilitation caseloads including aged care, gastro, neuro and rehabilitation.
o Work with outpatients as appropriate and develop clinical skills in the management of dysphagia and communication disorders.
o Work with experienced clinicians and receive structured, regular, supportive supervision to deliver high standards of patient care.
o Become more confident working autonomously while maintaining collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork.

* Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Speech Pathology Australia.
* Demonstrated postgraduate, core competency skills in managing patients with dysphagia and communication disorders.
* High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and exercise independent professional judgment on routine matters, commensurate with experience.
* Computer skills and ability to use health information systems.
