Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising for a Superintendent – ISF and Rebuild vacancy that exists in the Maintenance team. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a 5/2, 4/3 roster.

About The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager – Mobile Asset Maintenance, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Rebuild workshop functions at Mount Isa Mines.

You will be responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance, rebuild and refurbishment of all Mobile Assets. This role requires strong technical capability, forward planning, disciplined maintenance management and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary workforce.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the rebuild teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient maintenance operationsOversee major rebuilds and maintenance of Mobile EquipmentManage the life?cycle strategy of mobile assets to maintain reliability, equipment integrity and long?term performanceMonitor and update maintenance strategies, inspection regimes and condition monitoring programsWork closely with Engineering, Reliability, Operations and Planning teams to optimise schedulesProvide technical expertise on repair methodologies, rebuild standards and QA/QC processesManage budgets, forecasting, procurement, and contractor performance for all rebuild workshop activitiesLead incident investigations, RCA and corrective/preventative actionsDrive continuous improvement to enhance safety, cost control, asset performance and overall uptimeCoach, mentor and develop a diverse team, ensuring capability, accountability, succession planning and strong safety culture

About you – skills and experience:

You bring an advanced technical foundation, strong leadership capability and a commitment to safe, reliable operations. Your background ideally includes:

A recognised Mechanical trade or tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Management or similarExtensive experience in repairs and maintenance of heavy mobile equipmentStrong technical understanding of rebuild and maintenance processesProven leadership experience in maintenance or operational teams within complex industrial environmentsDemonstrated high?level safety leadership and risk management capabilityStrong project management skills including equipment maintenance and contractor managementExcellent analytical and problem?solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex equipment issuesFinancial and commercial acumen, including budget ownership and cost optimisationStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across operations, engineering, vendors and contractorsA continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for efficiency, process optimisation and people development
