Add expected salary to your profile for insightsNorthern Territory PHN leads the development and coordination of an equitable, comprehensive primary health care system and an engaged health workforce driven by community needs.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe role of the Clinical Editor is to provide expert clinical advice and input into the localisation of Health Pathways to ensure the information is correct, useful and relevant to NT Primary Care settings.THE ROLEWorking with the Primary Health Care team to deliver high quality, evidence based and collaborative pathways relevant to the NT context.Helping to identify local subject matter experts to consult in the process of localising or developing the pathways.Working across the full range of NT regions and health service types to articulate their specific needs and requirements.Working as part of the Primary Health Care team to define and meet project timelines.Gathering the required information, particularly the clinical information on how assessment, management and referral will be performed locally, in collaboration with other members of the NT Health Pathways Program Team.Facilitating discussions to arrive at agreed pathways for implementation.Reviewing feedback and comments from the subject matter expert(s) and Clinical Work Group as required in finalising the Health Pathways.Reviewing the newly drafted pathways produced by the Australasian Health Pathways team for accuracy, completeness and local relevance.Developing CPD activities to support the implementation of Health Pathways.Working with NT PHN program teams and other key stakeholders to identify priorities for pathway localisation or development.ABOUT YOUPossess a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a medical practitioner undergoing GP training or with Specialist GP qualification.Current or recent clinical work in NT.Knowledge of the health care systems in the NT region including key service providers and individuals.A commitment to evidence-based practice.High level communication and negotiation skills together with the ability to exercise sound judgement.Strong analytical skills with an ability to logically distil simple information from a complex range of sources.Strong understanding of the primary health care sector including rural and remote services, Aboriginal health and cross-cultural health service delivery.A sound knowledge of the Northern Territory health system and associated priority health needs.Understanding of a population health approach and ability to manage resources rationally.Willingness to work flexibly with prior planning to meet timeframes and availability of people they are consulting with e.g.
