About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic
Financial Director
to lead the organisation's financial management and planning. This senior leadership role is responsible for financial strategy, governance, compliance, and performance management, providing commercial insights to support business growth and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute the organisation's
financial strategy
aligned with business objectives
* Oversee all financial operations including
financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Ensure compliance with
Australian accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements
* Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO, executive team, and Board
* Manage financial risk, internal controls, and governance frameworks
* Oversee audits, tax matters, and relationships with external advisors
* Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
* Support mergers, acquisitions, investments, and business expansion initiatives
* Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems
Required Skills & Experience
* 8+ years of senior-level experience in
finance leadership roles
* Strong background in
financial management, reporting, and strategic planning
* In-depth knowledge of
Australian accounting standards (AASB), taxation, and compliance
* Proven experience working with executive leadership and Boards
* Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Experience with
ERP and financial systems
Desirable (Nice to Have)
* Experience in complex or regulated industries (e.g. financial services, healthcare, government)
* Experience with
business transformation or growth-stage organisations
* Exposure to international operations or multi-entity structures
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
* CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification
(required or highly preferred)
