About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our team on a full-time basis, working an 8/6 roster. In this role, you will report to the Maintenance Superintendent and work closely with the engineering and maintenance execution teams. Your focus will be ensuring our fleet is maintained safely, reliably, and cost-effectively to support site performance targets.
This position requires strong collaboration with field teams, site leadership, and the Brisbane asset team. You will play a key role in decision‑making and operational improvement by supporting quality maintenance practices and ensuring planned activities are executed effectively.
You will support maintenance and repairs across a large and diverse fleet, including:
* Hitachi EX8000, CAT 6060 and Hitachi EX3600 excavators
* Komatsu 930E & CAT 789C haul trucks
* CAT 16M & 18M graders
* CAT D10 & D11 dozers
* CAT 785 water trucks
Key responsibilities include:
* Deliver overarching project maintenance planning for major equipment including Hitachi EX8000, CAT 6060, Hitachi EX3600, haul trucks and ancillary machinery.
* Work with site maintenance leadership to drive high standards of asset availability, reliability and maintenance performance.
* Manage work order information, maintenance records and associated documentation.
* Monitor and control maintenance expenditure.
* Engage with field teams to continually improve maintenance practices and execution.
* Develop task plans for routine and non‑routine maintenance activities.
* Schedule daily servicing, component change-outs and major equipment overhauls.
* Identify critical spare parts and required stock levels to support operational readiness.
* Proactively identify opportunities to enhance maintenance performance and fleet reliability.
About You:
* Trade certificate or tertiary qualifications
* Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling of mining equipment
* In-depth knowledge of plant and machinery within the mining environment and provision of consistent maintenance, planning and servicing practices
* Knowledge of mine operation regulatory and legislative requirements
* Ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team
* A strong work ethic and an eye for detail coupled with the ability to meet deadlines
* Right to permanently live and work in Australia

Blackwater Mine
Located in Central Queensland, Blackwater Mine is one of the state’s largest coal mines, just 21 km from Blackwater. BUMA Australia has been handling truck and excavator pre-strip operations here since 2012, moving over 35 million BCM of material annually.
Our fleet includes Komatsu 930E and Caterpillar 789C haul trucks, paired with Hitachi EX8000, Caterpillar 6060, and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.
