About the Role
This is an opportunity for a Cyber Assurance Engineering Specialist to work on Joint projects in Canberra. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and maintaining technical security controls across complex ICT environments to meet compliance and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implementing, configuring, and maintaining technical security controls to meet compliance and accreditation requirements.
* Performing ICT system administration duties, including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting of servers, workstations, and virtual environments.
* Managing and supporting networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, ensuring secure connectivity and performance across Defence networks.
* Contributing to change management processes, including developing and reviewing change proposals, risk assessments, and implementation plans to maintain system integrity and availability.
* Conducting system and security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses to identify and mitigate potential threats.
Requirements:
Cybersecurity Framework Expertise
The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of ISM, Essential 8, and NIST standards for secure system governance.
ICT Systems & Network Administration
Proven experience managing systems, implementing security controls, and handling change management processes is required.
Operating System Proficiency
The candidate should be skilled in administering Windows Server, Linux, and macOS environments.
Virtualisation & Cloud Platforms
Hands-on experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary.
Network & Security Tools Knowledge
Deep understanding of networking protocols and tools including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection is required.
