About the role:
We're looking for a versatile Project Officer / Field Support to join our team at Centrogen. Thisunique role combines administrative and project coordination responsibilities with hands-on field work. You'll spend 3 days per week providing office and contract support, and the remaining 2 days per week in the field, supporting crews and operational delivery.
You'll play a key part in keeping our projects on track, liaising with clients, managing data and reporting, and supporting both the Operations Manager and Contract Supervisors. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a willingness to be involved across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing technical reports, KPI submissions, and contract documentation - including weed control and hazard reduction burn reports.
* Liaising with Operations Manager, Contract Supervisors, field crews, and clients
* Supporting safety, OHS, and environmental compliance across all operations
* Managing customer enquiries, complaints, and updating registers
* Contributing to teamwork and the smooth delivery of contracts
About you:
* Passionate, environmentally conscious with a willingness to develop skills and knowledge
* Relevant experience in office administration, ideally in environmental industry
* Highly organised with strong analytical and data management skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite
* Proficient in GIS Systems
* Energetic, outcomes-driven, and able to work independently
Desirable qualities:
* Certificate III in Environmental Science or equivalent is desirable, providing knowledge of environmental regulations, technical reporting, and best practice in vegetation and land management
* Certificate III in Business Administration, Certificate IV Leadership & Management
* GIS Mapping tools
* Experience in vegetation management or outdoor field work
* Confident using plant, tools, and equipment
* Strong safety focus and ability to follow procedures
* Physically fit with a positive, team-focused attitude
* Comfortable using technology (iPad/digital systems)
