Our organization is seeking a skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join our Technical Services department. This role will involve designing and scheduling all aspects of open pit mine operations, as well as coordinating with long-term planning during the strategic planning process.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in open pit engineering, planning, and operations, as well as proficiency in mining software such as Alastri, Deswik, and Microsoft Office. They will also possess a valid WA "C" Driver's Licence and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete budget and half-yearly mine planning and scheduling
* Undertake open pit mine designs, including waste dumps and other surface infrastructure
* Regularly review and update general mine planning assumptions
* Advance capital projects, including surface and pit infrastructure, to FEED/execution
* Coordinate with LTP during the strategic planning process
* Review mine projects, including scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies
* Operational readiness support as required
* Build and maintain cost models, including using XERAS
* Deliver presentations and reports to broad stakeholder groups
* Mining contractor tender analysis, including equipment assumptions/review
* Labour modelling for mining operations
