About the opportunity
Are you interested in working in a state-of-the-art facility with one of the largest public Anatomical Pathology laboratories? The Department of Tissue Pathology and Diagnostic Oncology at RPA is seeking a technical officer for a temporary position.
As the statewide diagnostic service for bone and soft tissue sarcomas, pelvic exenteration, complex head and neck resections, liver and kidney transplants, and diagnostic molecular pathology, you will be exposed to a diverse range of tissue types. The successful applicant will join a team of scientists and technicians, working alongside administrative and medical staff to ensure high-quality pathology results for patients and clinicians.
Located at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Campus in Camperdown, Sydney, our laboratory is accessible via three train stations and multiple bus stops. Staff enjoy proximity to cafes and entertainment venues.

What you'll be doing
Perform laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) and technical tasks by applying established methods. Undertake duties including preparation of materials and equipment maintenance in line with laboratory protocols.

* Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution with relevant subjects
* Knowledge and experience in pathology services, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems
* Ability to work responsibly, efficiently, and manage priorities to meet deadlines
* Ability to work in a team and autonomously to deliver results within set timeframes
* Customer-focused with strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
