Provisional Psychologist / Psychologist – Cobham Youth Justice Centre, Youth Justice

Salary: $79,592 - $139,824 per annum pro rata, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
This is a targeted recruitment. Role will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing psychological services to Youth Justice Centre clients and supporting staff.
What You'll Do / Responsibilities
* Operate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering psychological assessment, intervention, and therapeutic services.
* Provide consultancy to staff regarding the psychological needs of Youth Justice clients in custodial and community locations, and advise statutory authorities as required.
* Undertake psychological assessment and intervention, delivering therapeutic services or programs to young people who offend (including those who sexually offend).
* Assist in the formulation and review of Risk-Needs-Responsivity-based case plans for management and supervision of young people on remand or sentenced to custodial or community orders.
* Deliver training to staff (e.g., Youth Justice Caseworkers) in screening, identification, and support of young people with mental health problems, intellectual disability, or cognitive impairment.
* Maintain confidential documentation, including electronic case notes, in accordance with departmental policies and APS guidelines.
* Prepare reports, advice, and consultations to statutory authorities (e.g., Children's Courts, Serious Young Offenders Review Panel, State Parole Authority, Mental Health Review Tribunal).
* Be dynamic and able to think on your feet; respond to individual needs and situations.
* Provide psychological support to the Community office as part of a team of Youth Justice Psychologists reporting to a Clinical Manager.
What We're Looking For / Requirements
* Minimum four-year accredited qualification in psychology.
* Current provisional or full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* A current Driver's Licence with ability and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
* Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
* Appointments are subject to reference checks; some roles may require additional checks/clearances (e.g., National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014).
