Overview
Lake Joondalup Baptist College seeks to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Drama Teacher. The successful applicant must have the capacity to build effective relationships with students, staff and parents to enhance student wellbeing and outcomes.
Essential criteria
- A committed Christian and an active member of a church;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including relationship building, community engagement, and team building;
- Demonstrate the ability to teach Secondary Drama at all levels and to stage class productions, ensuring a strong understanding of curriculum requirements and student outcomes. The ability to also teach Dance would be desirable.
- Work collaboratively as part of the Arts Teaching Team, contributing to the development of dynamic teaching strategies and promoting excellence in student learning and achievement.
- Fulfil teaching responsibilities as specified by the Head of Arts Learning Area and the Associate Principal Head of Secondary, including lesson preparation, student assessment, and classroom management
- Collaborate closely with the Learning Diversity Team to provide in-class support for students with diverse learning needs, promoting inclusive teaching practices and ensuring appropriate support and adjustments are in place for all learners.
- Implement College policies related to student management, care, and behaviour, and adapt to any changes directed by the Associate Principal Head of Secondary to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
