Position Details
Year 2 Classroom Teacher (Full‐Time, Fixed Term)
St Mary's Primary School is seeking an experienced and passionate teacher for a Year 2 classroom position. This is a full‐time fixed‐term role until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of ongoing employment in 2027. The successful applicant will join a collaborative, dedicated and enthusiastic staff who work in partnership with families and the wider community to provide a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

St Mary's is a double‐stream, co‐educational Catholic primary school catering for students from Pre‐Kindergarten to Year 6. Located in the heart of Kalgoorlie, our school offers a welcoming and inclusive community that supports high‐quality teaching and learning. We enjoy strong connections with our Parish and value the ongoing support and engagement of our families. The school provides a range of specialist programmes, including Art, Science, Music, Digital Technologies, AUSLAN and Physical Education. These are complemented by targeted support and extension programmes, including MultiLit, EMU Intervention, Chaplaincy and IMAGINeers, ensuring that all students are supported both academically and socially.

Selection Criteria
* Authentically nurture positive and respectful relationships with students, colleagues and families
* Demonstrate a collaborative, team‐oriented approach and a willingness to contribute to a positive staff culture
* Be committed to ongoing professional growth, aligned with CSIP and AITSL Standards
* Collaborate with partner and support teachers to plan, organise and deliver effective teaching and differentiated learning programmes, including IEPs and EAL/D plans
* Demonstrate knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and SCSA Judging Standards
* Apply best practice pedagogy, including explicit teaching and the integration of STEM learning
* Use assessment, data tracking and intervention planning to inform teaching
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management, including whole‐school behaviour approaches and Berry Street strategies that create a safe and supportive learning environment
* Experience in the following programmes is desirable (training provided): MJR, PLD, Talk for Writing, Learning Through Doing, and Social Emotional Learning (Kimochis)
Qualifications Required
* Current registration with the TRBWA & WWC
* Relevant 4‐year tertiary qualifications
* Accreditation to teach RE, or progress towards accreditation
