Disability Support Worker – Spinal Cord Injury Support (Nextt) We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team supporting a client with a spinal cord injury. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting the client to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life in their own home. About the Role The client requires full assistance with all personal care tasks, including complex bowel care and manual handling. You will be working as part of a supportive team with the shared goal of eventually transitioning to consistent daily support coverage. This is a hands-on role requiring confidence, professionalism, and a person-centred approach to care. Shift Details Monday to Sunday 10:00am – 2:00pm (4-hour shifts) Ongoing regular shifts available with the goal of building consistent daily support coverage. Key Responsibilities Assisting with all personal care tasks Complex bowel care support Manual handling and safe transfer techniques Supporting daily routines and mobility Promoting independence and comfort in the home environment Following care plans and documentation requirements Working collaboratively with the broader support team About You We are looking for someone who is: Experienced in disability or complex care support (SCI experience highly regarded) Confident with personal care and manual handling tasks Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent shifts Calm, respectful, and client-focused Willing to learn and follow clinical guidance closely A strong team player with good communication skills Requirements NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain) First Aid & CPR certificate Driver’s licence (preferred) Comprehensive car insurance (if using own vehicle for work-related travel) Manual handling training (preferred or willingness to complete) Pay Rates E3.1 (Casual in home and SIL) SCHADS Award E3.1 Casual Rates (before tax): Base hourly rate: $35.15 Afternoon shift (shift ends between 8pm and midnight, Monday to Friday): $38.67 Active Night shift (finishes after midnight or starts before 6am, Monday to Friday): $39.37 Saturday: $49.21 Sunday: $63.27 Public holiday: $77.33 Why Join Us This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a client’s everyday life while being part of a supportive and professional team.
