A day in the life of a Senior Mechanical Engineer looks like:
- Undertake a range of duties in carrying out and/or managing engineering designs and projects to provide high level technical service to clients.
- Manage all facets of mechanical engineering, determine client requirements, produce calculations, specifications and drawings to ensure technical designs solutions meet expectations.
- Provide technical expertise in mechanical engineering to meet project need.
- Working closely with project managers and/or design managers service project needs through planning coordination, undertaking peer review and deliver the agreed outputs on budget on time and to quality standards.
- Lead and manage proposal development including preparing value propositions, methodologies, fee estimates, risk reviews etc.
- Organise and support the development of tender documents, evaluate tenders and contracts
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
To be successful for this role you'll present:
- Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field along with CPEng (or ability to obtain).
- A minimum of 4 to 8 years mechanical/infrastructure engineering experience in detail and concept design.
- Exceptional leadership abilities including managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced knowledge of clean water and wastewater services and the delivery workplace.
- Highly developed problem solving and negotiation skills to resolve disputes.
- Strong understanding of D&C; or alternative delivery projects and or program models.
