The Payroll Analyst role is a newly created role that sits within the APAC payroll operations team in Melbourne. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely delivery of the payroll services for Australian payroll operations within APAC region. You will work closely with HR team as this role will interface with time and attendance, savings plan, benefits, compensation, business partners, as well as outsourced vendors etc.

**Responsibilities**
- Review timesheets and attendance records and correct inaccuracies
- Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork for tax deductions, benefits, and garnishments
- Analyse compensation-related data including wages and bonuses
- Oversee payroll transactions (e.g., via e-banking)
- Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records
- Collaborate with Savings Plan & Benefits to understand the savings and benefits calculations and the impact on payroll calculation
- Design, document and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes
- Manage payment calendars for the fiscal year
- Report to management on payroll issues and changes
- Implement process related to payroll delivery
- Handle inquiries that are escalated from HR
- Coordinate with outsourced vendors regarding all policies, programs and processes related to payroll for continuous improvement

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst, Payroll Coordinator, or similar role
- Minimum of 3 years Payroll relevant business experience of Australia
- Deep knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations
- Hands-on experience with payroll software (like SAP and Kronos)
- Familiarity using Excel and spreadsheets
- Excellent analytical skills
- The ability to work under tight deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; advanced degree a plus.

**Conditions**
- Each week you can work from home 50% and work in the office 50%
- Must have a full working right in Australia
- Able to commute to the office for 50% a week as this is not a fully remote work
- Monday to Friday 9:00 am start
- 12 months temp contract via HOBAN - potential to extend further depending on our client's business requirements and individual performance
