About the opportunity.
Our core specialities include, orthopaedics, heart and lung surgery, head and neck surgery, neurosurgery, urology, vascular surgery, upper GI/hepatobiliary surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, colorectal surgery, gynaecology, neurology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, cancer services and mental health.
As Scrub Scout, you will play a critical role in supporting surgical team, ensuring the highest standard of patient care and sterile technique during procedures. You'll be responsible for preparing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing hands‑on support throughout surgical operations.
Things that work for us:
* Prepare operating theatres and instruments before surgery.
* Assist the surgeons during the procedures and sterile equipment.
* Monitor patient safety and respond quickly to surgical team needs.
* Collaborate with anaesthetic and recovery teams for smooth patient care.
What We're Looking For from you:
* Current AHPRA registration.
* Previous experience in a theatre/surgical setting.
* Have a strong background in one or all of these areas, orthopaedic, neuro, cardiac and/or robotic surgery (scrub/scout).
* Strong understanding of infection control and sterile technique.
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
