Our Values - Care, Respect, Integrity, Performance, and Teamwork - are real and the authentic foundation of everything we do.Job DescriptionAs Executive Vice President and Chief Exploration Officer you will:Be a member of the Executive Leadership Team, cast a wide leadership shadow, role model our Values, and inspire others to deliver their best.Define OceanaGold’s global exploration strategy and lead the exploration function.Effectively utilize available resources to maximize ongoing value through exploration for shareholders, stakeholders, and host communities.Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Brownfields and Greenfields exploration programs, and project generation activities, including flagship projects such as our high-grade Wharekirauponga deposit in New Zealand.Drive reserve replacement through resource growth and conversion, which is required to fully extract the resource potential of our asset base.Oversee the evaluation and negotiation of third-party Option/Joint Venture and acquisition exploration opportunities.Contribute to the optimisation of mine and project studies, through application of your technical expertise, and align exploration workplans to these.Contribute to the identification and evaluation of ongoing M&A initiatives.Supported by our Social Performance teams, build positive reputations with local communities and governments in countries where we explore.Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and contractors.QualificationsQualifications: University Degree majoring in geology – preferably with a higher degree (Masters or PhD) in Geology.Exploration Excellence: A minimum of 20 years of gold (and ideally copper) exploration experience including greenfields, brownfields, advanced project and/or production. Proven success in discovery and resource replacement reflecting extensive experience in leading multi-jurisdictional exploration campaigns across diverse deposit types and geological settings.Technical Leadership: Expertise in exploration techniques and technology, precious metal geological settings, systems, mineralization processes and models, and target generation. Knowledge of mine geology, resource estimation, gold reconciliation, and exploration innovation.Management and Commercial: Expertise in planning, budgeting and execution of large exploration project portfolios.
