The Opportunity
We are seeking a Associate Director, Operations & Procurement to join our Information & Technology team and contribute to an exciting period of growth. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the organisation's operations and procurement processes.
About the role
The Associate Director – Operations & Procurement is a strategic and hands-on leadership role reporting to the Chief Information & Technology Officer. The role is responsible for overseeing IBA's IT service delivery, operations, property, and procurement functions. It ensures operational excellence, risk mitigation, and cost-effective resource management across digital and physical assets, aligning all functions with IBA's strategic goals.
A key focus of the role is to develop and lead a high-performing, collaborative team culture that emphasizes structured, proactive risk management, strong employee engagement, and a high degree of communication and transparency.
What you'll bring to the team
* Awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander societies and culture.
* Ability to liaise and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field.
* 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across IT operations, property, and/or procurement.
* Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and procurement best practices, including managing large complex contracts.
* Experience working in government applying the PGPA Act and Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
* Experience managing facilities and physical asset portfolios.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PROSCI, PMP) are highly desirable.
* Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and engage stakeholders effectively.
