Strategic Maritime Business Growth Leader
* Identify and pursue high-value maritime business opportunities across defence and commercial sectors, focusing on sustainment, maintenance, overhaul, repair, and upgrade programs.
* Drive work into various Austal facilities in Australia and internationally, ensuring alignment with operational capacity and strategic objectives.
* Develop and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline, sharing revenue forecasts with key stakeholders.
* Build and nurture trusted relationships with defence, government, and commercial maritime customers.
* Engage with fleet operators, program offices, and vessel owners to understand maintenance and upgrade needs.
* Act as the central point of contact for customers and Austal's sustainment network, ensuring seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A minimum of 8-10 years' experience in maritime sustainment, ship repair, or lifecycle support business development.
* Proven ability to secure and deliver maintenance, overhaul, repair, and upgrade contracts.
* Strong understanding of defence and commercial sustainment frameworks, including performance-based contracting and availability models.
* Demonstrated capability to develop customer and industry relationships across multiple markets and jurisdictions.
* Experience coordinating cross-functional bid teams and developing commercial proposals.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Prior experience engaging with Australian Defence Force and/or Australian Border Force sustainment programs or international naval customers.
* Understanding of Commonwealth sustainment and procurement frameworks, DISP, and export control regulations.
* Familiarity with Indo-Pacific maritime markets, including regional fleet maintenance networks.
* Experience in a matrixed, multinational organisation.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
