About The Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Engineering Draftsperson to join our team based at our Forrestfield, WA facility. Reporting to the Engineering Lead – Buckets, you will play a critical role in supporting fabrication standards, quality outcomes, project schedules and cost management. You will work closely with engineers, project teams and fabrication partners to deliver accurate, detailed drawings that support safe, efficient manufacturing.
This role also contributes to Schlam Payload's Continuous Improvement Program, ensuring best practice drafting and documentation standards are maintained.
What You'll Be Doing
* Develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D fabrication drawings in line with quality standards
* Prepare and manage project documentation for manufacturing and build partners
* Support constructability, safety and cost reviews during design development
* Liaise with Project Managers and Coordinators to meet agreed timelines
* Ensure compliance with internal systems including QMS, IMS and project controls
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across drafting and design processes
What You'll Bring
* Experience using Solid Edge or Inventor (essential)
* SolidWorks experience highly regarded
* Qualifications and/or experience in 3D CAD Drafting
* Strong understanding of fabrication, welding and assembly drawings
* High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‐paced environment
Desirable Experience
* Heavy fabrication or manufacturing environment
* Mining equipment exposure (buckets, dump bodies or similar)
* Project-based drafting experience
