We are looking for a Senior Java Developer who is keen to drive solutions for complex problems individually and in a team-based environment. The IT Payments Applications team is responsible for delivering critical upgrades and enhancements to the national real-time payment infrastructure.

About the role
- Perform systems analysis and design of changes to systems
- Maintain a working knowledge of tools and software packages used
- Undertake relevant research including the evaluation of new software, tools, and techniques, ensuring they are fit to the Bank/'s enterprise architecture and standards
- Work collaboratively with business stakeholders and peers to refine business requirements and to ensure they are met
- Comply with and contribute to the development of the Bank/'s policies, standards, and guidelines for software development, as well as tool selection
- Lead the identification/breakdown of development components and tasks, as well as estimations
- Guide other developers as they work through development decisions
- Support cross team collaboration
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation
- Undertake the coding for systems, as well as integration software services and perform code reviews for other developers
- Ensure written unit and integration tests for all developed code follow Bank/'s standards and maintain test coverage
- Exposure to critical national infrastructure in the payment systems domain
About you
- Hands-on knowledge of Java/Spring technologies (e.g., Embedded Tomcat, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security etc)
- In-depth knowledge of XML technologies
- Proficient in Linux operating system (RHEL) configuration specific to application deployments
- Proficient in RESTful and SOAP web services.
- Proficient experience with Git and CI/CD techniques and processes
- Knowledge of Oracle Exadata and SQL Server will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of ORM tools for database management: Hibernate/JPA:
- Familiarity with integration technologies including MQ
- Familiarity of Angular will be highly regarded
- Familiarity with release platforms like Jenkins and Azure Dev Ops
- Have a curious and accountable mindset
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
