As an AO5 HR Consultant, you'll play a key role in supporting fair and transparent recruitment practices across our department and specifically for employee groups such as corporate and regional based officers, school support staff and classified teachers. A Day In The Life Of a HR Consultant
* Managing and resolving complex queries and escalations received via phone or email to the Recruitment Services unit.
* Processing exemption/limited advertising requests and making recommendations to the Manager and Director informed by the relevant legislation.
* Overseeing the processing of Criminal History Checks and managing sensitive enquiries and disclosable outcomes.
* Supporting team workload coordination and collaborating with the Team Leader to identify priorities.
* Assessing and processing transfers at level, relinquishments and unattached officer requests.
* Providing accurate and timely recruitment information for legal, integrity, and audit requests.
About You
* Strong understanding of recruitment and selection principles, relevant directives and recruitment processes.
* Proven ability to interpret and apply recruitment policy, legislation and frameworks in a practical context.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to provide clear, confident advice.
* The ability to work flexibly, adapt to competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail in a high-volume environment.
