Role Overview
As a Peer Worker, you will provide open and effective support to individuals accessing or considering connection to mental health services. This role focuses on nurturing hope and self-determination to inspire people on their journey to recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Nurture hope and self-determination to inspire people on their journey to recovery.
* Draw on your lived experience and personal journey towards recovery by purposefully disclosing your experiences openly, appropriately, and effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or commencement or a willingness to work towards qualification within first 6 months of employment).
* Direct lived experience of life-changing mental health challenges, mental health service use, as well as periods of healing and personal recovery.
* Commitment to safely and purposely share lived experience to engender hope and support others on their personal recovery journey.
* Thorough understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, ethical behavior, policies, and procedures.
