Job Description: Principal Advisor
Contract length: 12 month + extension option
Level: AO7

As a Principal Advisor in one of QLD's largest state departments you will play a pivotal role you will play a key role in a major investment planning project based on Queensland's Project Assessment Framework (PAF). Your primary responsibility will be leading the Technical Studies contract, an essential part of the Business Case development for various transport infrastructure projects.
**Responsibilities**:
**Interface Management**: Serve as the primary point of contact and provide day-to-day interface with the technical studies consultant. Address specific areas, including geotechnical, hydraulics, traffic, pavement, road design, light rail design, public transport network, sustainability, and environment.
**Project Management**: Oversee the Technical Studies contract, ensuring efficient management of scope, time, risk, cost, and other project aspects.
**Technical Expertise**: Provide direction and expertise to the technical studies consultant on complex engineering issues during the Business Case development.
**Reporting and Briefs**: Generate and/or contribute to project reports and briefs, offering strategic decision options and advisory insights.
**Stakeholder Engagement**: Present project outcomes to various stakeholders, including working groups, steering committees
**Mandatory Requirements**:
Proven experience in design management of public transport, multi-modal, or major projects.
Willingness to undergo employment screening, such as a criminal history check, as part of the selection process.
**Desirable Requirements**:
Experience in light rail and/or similar multi-modal projects
OH&S; Construction Induction: Possess OH&S; Construction Induction (white card or equivalent).
