Overview
Fossung Multicultural & Education Services (FMAES) is a registered charity supporting multicultural, migrant and refugee families across Ipswich, Springfield, Logan, Goodna and surrounding areas.
Our education programs provide free homework support and tutoring to help students succeed at school.
We are looking for a Program Support Volunteer to assist with delivering our high-school tutoring sessions and creating a positive learning environment for students.
Key Duties
Support students in Year 7 & 12 with homework, study skills, Maths, English and other subjects
Assist tutors during tutoring sessions
Encourage student confidence, participation and progress
Record attendance and provide basic session feedback
Create an inclusive, culturally respectful and safe learning space
Skills & Experience (Not all required)
Interest in education, youth work or tutoring
Strong communication skills and ability to work with teenagers
Patience, empathy and a supportive attitude
Ability to follow instructions and work within program guidelines
Suitable for education students seeking experience, or anyone passionate about helping young people
