Job Description
Caltex Currimundi is more than just a fuel station – we are a trusted stop for locals and travellers alike. Alongside supplying a wide range of fuel types including Premium 98, 91, E10, and Premium Diesel with Techron, our site also features convenience store and customer facilities such as Star Mart, ATM, mechanical workshop, trailer hire, party ice, gas bottles, firewood, bait, newspapers, fresh flowers, and more. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service, reliable products, and a safe, welcoming environment for the community.
We are seeking a dedicated Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy service station and convenience store. This is a full-time role, typically 38 hours per week, offering a salary of $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation per annum. Retail Manager – Caltex Currimundi, QLD Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Manager, you will:
- Oversee daily store and fuel station operations, ensuring high service standards across both retail and customer facilities.
- Plan and monitor stock levels of fuel, convenience goods, and ancillary services (e.g., party ice, firewood, bait, flowers) to ensure consistent availability.
- Set pricing strategies for both fuel and store products, balancing competitiveness with profitability.
- Develop and implement purchasing, merchandising, and promotional strategies tailored to the needs of the local market.
- Promote and advertise store offerings and seasonal campaigns to attract new and repeat customers.
- Manage financial records, sales reports, and stock control systems, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and transactions.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, analysing performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring team members deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Ensure the smooth operation of customer facilities including ATM, trailer hire, and mechanical workshop services.
- Deliver strong customer service by assisting patrons with enquiries, providing advice on products, and resolving issues effectively.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality and reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction across the site.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in retail management or supervisory role (fuel station or convenience store experience will be highly regarded).
- A relevant qualification – AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma.
- Proven ability to manage staff, stock, and budgets in a fast-paced retail environment.
