Fountain Gate Secondary College is located in the City of Casey in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, approximately 40 kilometres from the Melbourne Central Business District. The school was registered as a Year 7-12 provider in 2009, and prior to that, was a Year 7-10 campus of Eumemmerring College. Enrolments are approximately 1222 students. The Student Family Occupation Education (SFOE) index was 0.5594 in 2024. The staffing profile includes a Principal, 5 Assistant Principals, 10 Leading Teachers, 9 Learning Specialists, 74.2 Teachers and 49.9 Education Support staff.
The college provides a Year 7 to Year 12 learning program through the Victorian Curriculum, the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Victorian Certificate of Education – Vocational Major (VCE-VM) and a range of Victorian Education and Training (VET) offerings.

Student Wellbeing & Inclusion
We have a wellbeing team that works closely with Year Level leaders, teachers, students and the community to implement strategies to increase educational outcomes. The wellbeing team includes a Mental Health Practitioner, 4 Engagement and Wellbeing officers and the Doctors in Schools program. An Inclusion team works alongside wellbeing staff to support teaching strategies for students' learning needs.

Role: Instrumental Music Instructor
The successful applicant will provide instrumental instruction on guitar and bass guitar to students at all levels, from beginner to advanced, across a range of styles incorporating traditional and contemporary methods. The role also includes rehearsal and direction of ensembles, concert nights, and developing and implementing ensemble programs. The applicant must demonstrate effective attendance records and strategies to engage non-attending students, monitor student achievement, and communicate regularly with the Instrumental Music Coordinator.
Selection Criteria
* SC1. Demonstrated capacity to provide tailored, individual support to instrumental music students in a school setting.
* SC2. Demonstrated capacity to work as a member of the performing arts team.
* SC3. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills, including the capacity to build constructive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader community.
* SC4. Possess technical knowledge and expertise in guitar and bass guitar.
* SC5. Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement ensemble programs for instrumental music students in a school setting to further their opportunities for performance.
Responsibilities
* Direct instruction of guitar and bass guitar to groups and individuals.
* Rehearse and contribute to ensemble programs.
* Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Music curriculum area within the school.
* Undertake other related organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
* Comply with the timetable and the professional ethos of the school.
* Create a positive environment conducive to learning for the allocated students, aligned with the school's well-being and pastoral care policies.
