The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides expert clinical advice to health care professionals within ISLHD Cancer Services. The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership. The Clinical Nurse Consultant models the CORE values of the organisation.

This position is the clinical lead in the management of MOSAIQ Oncology Information System (OIS) for Cancer Services across ISLHD, and will provide support in all aspects of the medical oncology/haematology platform within the MOSAIQ (MQ) OIS.

The role spans the Cancer Centres at Wollongong, Shoalhaven, and Milton Ulladulla Oncology Day unit, plus the inpatient setting at Wollongong Hospital. Communication and knowledge to engage key stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the project is an essential skill.

This position will also lead the construction and review of all chemotherapy care plans within MOSAIQ. These care plans are based on the Cancer Institute's eviQ clinical information resource webpage that provides health professionals with current evidence based, peer maintained, best practice cancer treatment protocols. There will also require addition of care plans that are clinical trial based, and care plans that are recently published in the literature and not yet published on eviQ.

The MOSAIQ Clinical Lead CNC will provide continued support to clinicians involved in the use of the medical oncology/ haematology platform in MOSAIQ. This includes: all Nursing, Medical and Allied Health as well as Pharmacy, administrative and managerial staff.

Other key functions of this positions include:

* Leading ongoing maintenance and development of the medical oncology/haematology platform.
* Developing and leading clinical practice improvement/patient safety through improving system design, quality assurance and clinical decision support, including the development of clinical decision support tools and systematic quality assurance.
* Ensuring that changes to policies and/or work practices are identified, documented, communicated and implemented to all relevant stakeholders.
* Leading work flow process improvement/modification linked to the use of MOSAIQ and clinical process design.
* Liaising with the vendor as required in regards to configuration of the system to meet patient Safety and Quality standards.
* Be proactive in the development of a cancer information culture across the district.
