Trade Assistant Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Trade Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the internal and external areas of our facilities.
The ideal candidate will have general building maintenance experience, with a strong understanding of tools and equipment. You will be highly motivated with a strong work ethic, able to plan, prioritise and problem solve. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
* Maintain the internal and external areas of our facilities.
* Ensure all waste materials are removed in a timely fashion, with appropriate segregation of different waste streams.
* Daily inspection of work areas & reporting of any defects and hazards.
* Daily restocking of various consumables throughout the Facilities.
* Repairs and maintenance of a vast array of infrastructure.
* Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken door handles/locks, unblocking toilets, patching holes, ground maintenance (whipper snipper and mowing) etc.
* Communicate with client supervisor to determine daily work priorities.
* Adhere to site policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* General building maintenance / handyman experience.
* Sound understanding of tools & equipment.
* High level of physical fitness to perform the lifting / manual handling of this role.
* The ability to plan, prioritise & problem solve.
* Good time management skills & strong attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal & written.
* Experience in documented risk management processes - able to complete JSEA, SWMS, SLAM etc.

Working Conditions
This is a casual day shift role, based at Singleton NSW. The position requires working Monday to Friday, 8 hour days (dependent on workload), 6:30am starts. You must be able to stand/walk over long periods of time, indoors and outdoors during summer and winter months. A current drivers licence (manual) is also required.
