We're looking for an experienced Senior Safety Adviser to join a well-established civil construction company with operations across the renewables, infrastructure and civil construction sectors.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a mix of office and site environments, enjoys working hands‑on with project teams, and wants to make a meaningful impact on safety performance and culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement and maintain WHS management systems in accordance with company procedures and WHS legislation.
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
* Support hazard identification, risk assessment and control implementation.
* Coordinate and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and pre‑start briefings.
* Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis and close‑out of corrective actions.
* Support operational teams with safety planning for drilling and piling operations, working at heights and in confined spaces, lifting and crane operations, traffic management and mobile plant, working near live services.
* Prepare safety reports, maintain documentation and assist with audits.
* Actively promote and strengthen a positive, proactive safety culture across all projects.
Qualifications & Experience
* Essential
o Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
o Construction Industry White Card
o Demonstrated experience in civil construction, drilling or piling
o Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and standards
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems
o Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Desirable
o Diploma of WHS or equivalent
o ICAM or similar investigation training
o Internal auditor qualification (ISO 45001 preferred)
o Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 systems
