About the Role
Join ABC International Development (ABCID) as a Senior Research Analyst, reporting to the Research & Evaluation Manager.
In this role you'll lead the implementation of ABCID's research and monitoring & evaluation (M&E) workplan across a portfolio of media development programs in the Indo-Pacific, ensuring activities are effectively measured and demonstrate impact and value.
Working across multiple concurrent projects, you'll oversee research design, methodology, analysis and reporting, ensuring outputs meet requirements and are clear, credible and useful for a range of stakeholders.
The role is primarily qualitative in focus, requiring strong writing and the ability to translate complex findings into compelling narratives. Quantitative analysis also forms an important component, with regular use of statistical tools and Excel.
You'll contribute to major regional initiatives, including programs that strengthen media capability, support journalists and build more resilient media organisations across the Indo-Pacific.

About You
You're an experienced M&E professional with strong technical capability and a track record of delivering high-quality research across complex, multi-country programs.
You're comfortable working autonomously, managing competing priorities and engaging with diverse stakeholders. You enjoy mentoring others and contributing to a collaborative team, possessing strong communication and presentation skills.
You'll bring:
* Strong analytical capability, with the ability to translate research into clear, actionable, plain-language insights
* Advanced writing and reporting skills, distilling complex findings for diverse audiences and in engaging ways
* Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end research and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) across complex programs in media or international development organisations
* Proven experience with DFAT monitoring and evaluation guidelines (essential)
* Experience managing M&E systems, tools and methodologies at a program or portfolio level, including proficiency in statistical and analytical software (e.g. Excel and SPSS Statistics)
* Strong stakeholder management, representation and communication skills, including working with donors and program teams across countries
* Experience in international development, media, or related sectors, with an understanding of the Indo-Pacific context
