Be responsible for coordinating the Clozapine Service, implement and update any policies and procedures, report and review all aspects of relevant practice.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health - Clozapine Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Be competent in the provision of advanced level mental health nursing to consumers, carers and significant others
* Act as a resource person for the service in relation to education and workforce development initiatives
* Work in a self-directed capacity within a multidisciplinary team framework.
* Be committed to ongoing professional development
* Manage the public view of the service by responding to complaints, initiating solutions and dealing with public relations issues
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
* Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
* Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
* A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

* Base salary ranging from $136 538 - $148 242 per annum

The Continuing Care Community (CCC) service line is an integrated program that includes community and inpatient teams. The CCC has teams dedicated to the south and north Gold Coast with adjunct specialist programs such as Project Air Service, Adult Eating Disorder Service providing care across the whole of the health service area.
