About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our Perth base operations as Ground Handling Agents.
Based at Perth Airport, this permanent part-time role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient and seamless ground operations, supporting the safe and timely departure and arrival of aircraft. Reporting to the Ramp Supervisor, the position offers a minimum of 20 hours per week and the opportunity to be an integral part of our dynamic team.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Hold safety as a core value and contributes to the achievement of a Zero Harm and an incident/injury-free environment
* Perform various aircraft handling tasks, including dispatching departing aircraft and marshalling arriving aircraft onto bays.
* Loading and unloading of baggage and cargo from the aircraft.
* Ensure proper handling, sorting, and delivery of baggage to the designated areas.
* Aid passengers during boarding and disembarkation, including wheelchair assistance, if required.
* Support ramp operations, such as the positioning of ground support equipment, waste and potable water servicing of aircraft.
* Perform basic aircraft cleaning duties, including cabin cleaning, waste disposal, and replenishing supplies.
* Maintain cleanliness standards and adhere to established procedures.
* Maintain accurate records of activities, such as aircraft movements and baggage handling.
* Report any irregularities, incidents, or damages promptly to the relevant authorities.
* Adhere to safety regulations, security protocols, and airport policies at all times.
* Report any security concerns or breaches to the appropriate personnel and participate in safety training programs.
* Operate ground handling equipment, such as tugs, stairs, loading platforms and belt loaders.
* Conduct routine inspections, report any malfunctions, and ensure proper functioning of the equipment.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, pilots, and other airport personnel to ensure efficient operations.
Skills & Requirements
* Hold or be able to obtain Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC)
* Hold an Australian driver's license (manual preferred)
* Hold or be able to obtain a Dangerous Goods Awareness certificate.
* Ability to hold a relevant airport authority to drive airside license.
* High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
* Prior experience in ground handling, aviation, or related fields is preferred.
* Knowledge of airport operations, safety procedures, and regulations is preferred.
* Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor environments.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and customer-oriented environment.
* Flexibility to work in shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
* Familiarity with computer systems and basic software applications.
