Overview
Manager Hazard Preparedness and Response (HPR) National is a role within the Decision Support Services (DSS) Program, under the Community Services Group (CSG), reporting to the General Manager DSS. The Bureau is Australia's weather, climate, water, oceans and space weather agency. Our work touches the lives of all Australians every day. Our products and services include observations, forecasts, warnings, analysis and advice. They cover Australia's atmosphere, water, oceans and space environments.
The Manager HPR National is the Bureau's lead for the EM sector, and manages a section focused on understanding and meeting EM sector customer needs. Within the section there are three teams:
Responsibilities
A team focused on understanding and articulating the priority needs of the EM sector, through customer intelligence documented by all teams within the Program, and through managing the external committees landscape, including providing secretariat functions for the national Hazard Services Forum (HSF).
A team focused on understanding EM and community sector user interactions with Bureau products and services, the behaviours prompted by those products and how this should inform product and service design for highest product impact.
An operational team, providing 7-day a week operational decision support and other services to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) National Situation Room (NSR).
