Aquarium Industries is seeking two passionate and experienced Senior Fish Keepers to join our Fish Care Team in Epping, Victoria.
One role is permanent with supervisory responsibilities, and the other is a 12‐month maternity leave contract with the potential to become permanent.
Enjoy a 4.5‐day work week, with your weekend starting before lunch every Friday*. We are looking for candidates with 3–4 years of aquarium care experience in either retail or wholesale environments.
Key Responsibilities
Care for a diverse range of fish and invertebrate species in your assigned section
Perform daily feeding, tank cleaning, system preparation, and health checks
Allocate new stock and manage stock movements between warehouses
Maintain livestock quality standards, including grading and treatment protocols
Apply disease management and health maintenance treatments as required
Support and mentor junior staff (for the permanent senior position)
About You
3–4 years of experience caring for aquarium fish in a retail or wholesale environment
Strong knowledge of freshwater and/or marine fish and invertebrates
Experience using fish medications, disease management, and treatment methods
Previous supervisory or mentoring experience (preferred for senior position)
Excellent attention to detail and adherence to protocols
Ability to lift up to 20 kg (salt bags, fish boxes, etc.)
Passion for aquatic life and animal welfare
Strong communication skills with a customer‐focused attitude
Able to work independently and as part of a team

*Standard roster: 4.5‐day Monday–Friday week, plus one weekend every four weeks (4 hours Saturday + 4 hours Sunday).
