We are partnering with a global technology business to hire a Senior Software Engineer. This is a hands on role focused on production support, troubleshooting, enhancements, and engineering delivery across Point of Sale platforms supporting 70 stores today with growth toward 700 stores.
This role suits an engineer who enjoys solving real production issues, working through code level problems, and partnering with offshore development teams to deliver fixes and improvements. You will work closely with local technical leadership and European core product teams.
What You'll Be Doing
* Provide L3 and L4 support across critical POS platforms and store systems
* Investigate production incidents, identify root cause, and define remediation steps
* Review code behaviour and system interactions to diagnose issues beyond L1 and L2 support
* Work with European engineering teams to deliver fixes, patches, and enhancements
* Build and improve software across POS, back office, and store platforms
* Develop back end services using Java 8 SDK and Spring Boot
* Contribute to front end applications using React and TypeScript
* Support integrations across enterprise systems and internal platforms
* Improve operational efficiency by identifying recurring issues and reducing high volume incidents
* Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For
* Strong hands on software engineering background with Java, Springboot and React/Typescript
* Solid Java fundamentals with ability to work in older Java environments
* Experience troubleshooting production issues in live systems
* Ability to read code, isolate faults, and work through complex technical problems
* Experience across full stack development preferred
* Strong communication skills and confidence working with global teams
* Honest, proactive, and eager to learn
* Comfortable in a fast paced retail environment
