Job Overview

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families across the Mount Isa region? As part of our Intensive Bail Initiative Team, you'll be part of a wrap‐around service that supports the families of young people who have come into contact with the youth justice system. In this varied and challenging role, you'll help give families the tools they need to thrive. We understand that in developing effective working partnerships it is a 'two‐way street', so we offer a practice model that respectfully engages clients and provides peer support for the practitioners.

Location and Term

In this full‐time max term until June 30, 2026, you'll work as part of our Intensive Bail Initiative and Youth Support Services team in Mount Isa to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a passionate team, including providing professional supervision.
* Proactively build connections with local service providers including youth justice services and other specialist supports.
* Advocate for young people and their families through local networks and engagement with government agencies.
* Oversee daily operations within the Bail Support programs and ensure that practice, compliance and child safeguarding standards are met.
* Ensure compliance with service agreements, policies and procedures, and compile relevant data to meet reporting requirements.
* Travel to all sites to support the delivery and evaluation of these programs.
Experience and Qualifications
* Strong leadership skills and a genuine passion to motivate and guide a high‐performing team to achieve collective goals and positive outcomes for children and young people.
* Demonstrated experience working with youth at risk of becoming or who are currently involved with the Youth Justice system; families requiring support to meet the needs of their young people, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
* A Bachelor's degree in a human services field, and/or significant equivalent experience.
* Experience in rural community work.

* Award rate salary (Level 6.1 – $55.72 per hour) plus access to full PBI salary packaging benefits.
* Generous annual remote location allowance paid on top of your base salary.
