We are growing and we need an experienced Safety Advisor to join our Distribution Centre (DC) team to help maintain our safety-first work culture.
About the Role
You'll work closely with our Distribution Centre leaders, helping us create and maintain safe working environments by providing safety leadership, guidance and technical support to reduce critical risks and workplace injuries. This is an important role that will integrate practical and effective safety initiatives to promote safe workplace behaviours.
This position oversees safety for our DCs in Brisbane and NZ.
Responsibilities
* Partner with DC Operations staff to complete area-specific critical risk assessments and establish critical control plans for the DC.
* Coordinate and deliver critical safety training and induction.
* Provide technical input to DC Leads and other operations leaders on safety planning, safety risk management and management review processes (e.g., Chain of Responsibility, Dangerous Goods, emergency preparedness and response).
* Lead, participate and support the investigation of any workplace incident, near miss or injuries to ensure causal factors are identified and preventive actions taken and implemented.
About You
* You'll have demonstrated safety experience working within supply chain, logistics and/or FMCG.
* Excellent working knowledge and awareness of Work Health and Safety Legislation.
* Excellent working knowledge of safety legislation including WHS, HVNL (CoR) along with industry standards and management system standards (ISO45001, ISO45003 & ISO14001) highly desirable.
* Cert IV in OHS (minimum) and ICAM Investigation Training (or equivalent).
* Experience participating in internal audits and reporting outcomes.
* Experience building relationships with internal clients and external stakeholders, along with solid communication and presenting skills.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
* A strong commitment to continuously apply and influence best practice standards.
