Strategic Planner
Location: Katoomba, New South Wales (Part-time)
Position: Permanent, 21 hours per week
Responsibilities
The City Planning branch at Blue Mountains City Council has the exciting and challenging responsibility to deliver high quality strategic land use planning for a city within a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty and value. The role includes: preparing precinct plans for key locations, developing land use planning strategies and plans for the Blue Mountains Local Government Area, monitoring and updating the Council's local planning framework, and working with, influencing, and guiding groups within Council and external agencies to achieve Council's strategic planning objectives.

Qualifications
Preferred: tertiary degree in planning. Successful candidates may also have qualifications from planning aligned industries such as environmental science, engineering, architecture, urban design or other equivalent fields. High-level ability in strategic and statutory land use policy and processes, combined with a passion for community engagement and customer service.
Remuneration
Base salary commencing at $103,977 gross per annum
* 12% superannuation
* performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary
* annual award increase
